Galaxy Computers have achieved the Keep Guernsey Green Revalidation Award, which was recently presented to General Manager Ricky Domaille by Deputy Mark Dorey. The company have successfully maintained the award, since it was first presented to them in 2012.

The award recognises organisations that help Guernsey maintain a healthy, clean environment, by operating to best practice in waste management and energy conservation. TO achieve the award, Galaxy Computers had to meet a high set of standards to demonstrate its commitment to reducing its impact on the environment.

Stuart Moseley, Managing Director of Galaxy Computers, says: “We are delighted to have been awarded the Keep Guernsey Green Revalidation Certificate, as tackling environmental issues within the technology industry is an important part of our company philosophy. Since achieving the Award in 2012, we have been working hard to develop the WEEE recycling and recovery services we offer our customers; but we are also committed to running the internal business operations in an environmentally friendly manner.”

Keith Tapscott, independent Assessor for the award, commented: “Core green values lies at the heart of this organisation, reflecting Galaxy’s commitment to looking after the Island’s environment, abiding by the mantra Reduce, Re-Use Recycling, and focusing on sustainable supply chains.” The plaque itself, presented to Galaxy, has been made from recycled bottle caps.

Each organisation which applies for the award is subject to an assessment which monitors current actions and future commitments taken by the company to reduce waste, increase recycling and improve energy conservation. The award is open to any size and type of organisation in Guernsey. Further information is available on the Keep Guernsey Green webpage.
