GRG signs up to GET Employment Charter

06.02.2019.

GRG are excited to have signed up to the Guernsey Employment Trust (GET) Employment Charter, and look forwards to welcoming candidates to its recycling sites.

The Group is working closely with GET and MIND to deliver Mental Health and Disability Awareness Training across our sites in Guernsey and Jersey, in order to promote well-being and good HR practice in the workplace.

The Employment Charter asks employers to abide by 9 commitments, including making reasonable adjustments in the workplace where practicable, and offering practice interviews and work experience placements to disabled people.

Barriers to employment are not solely physical: candidates may experience difficulty in accessing employment opportunities due to autism, dyslexia, lack of confidence, or hearing or visual impairments. Such issues can affect all areas of employment including job applications, interviews, training, inductions, developing relationships with colleagues or adapting to changes in routine, environments and tasks.

Where practical, GRG will work closely with GET to adapt its businesses and HR processes and working environments to ensure that prospective candidates can take advantages of opportunities within the recycling industry.
