The Guernsey Recycling Group and Galaxy CI have signed up for the Everest Challenge; raising money for the Sarah Groves Foundation and Guernsey Mind.

The Everest Challenge will be taking place throughout January 2020. Participants follow a set route: starting at the bottom of the Val des Terres, they walk up the Val des Terres, then turn right down George Street heading towards the Dorset Arms, and right again down Havelet Street, back to the start line. Participants needs to complete this circuit 115 times in 30 days – an average of 4 circuits per day.

The Val des Terres ascends 77 metres. So 115 circuits x 77 = 8,855 (equivalent to Mount Everest).

We will be doing the majority of the Val des Terres circuits after work, in the dark, and probably in the rain!
